ABOUT THIS HOUSE

The house is designed for flat or slightly sloping grounds. The mass of the structure is based on the traditional type of house with a saddle roof. Particularly the vertical windows, a huge dormer enabling you to get to the recessed balcony from the rooms on the first floor provide it with modern expression. A salient part of the living room with the dining room is optically linked to the exterior thanks to glazed openings. A simple, clean shape garage adjoins the house, its roof extends up to the house and covers the main entrance.

The construction emphasises comfortable and pleasant utilization by all the inhabitants. The white facade is divided by several dynamically arranged elongated windows which let sufficient light into the interior. The dormer on the southern side is a dominant element of the whole composition. It enlarges the space in the children's bedrooms and makes it more pleasant. The dark inclined roof contrasts with the while surfaces of the walls and is suitable for installation of photovoltaic panels and solar collectors.

A garage with enough space for another vehicle at the front is attached to the house on the western side. The porch in front of the main entrance door is sheltered from bad weather and provides a comfortable walk between the garage and the house. A large window, which accentuates and illuminates the inner staircase is located on the northern side. Material simplicity and the formal shape solution of the house contribute to its functionality and the contemporary standards.

The main entrance is located on the western side, it leads to a hall with a changing room and a door to the utility room. A corridor with a staircase to the 2nd floor is situated in the middle of the layout. A separate toilet is located under the staircase. Thanks to the natural illumination from the staircase area and the glazed living room door the space does not have a confined feel. A home office, which can also be used as a guest room, is located in the north-eastern corner of the ground floor. A living room with a U-shaped kitchen is the centre of the house. The space is dominated by large glazed parts, which can be opened to link the interior with the garden and enter the terrace. While the ground floor has mainly a social function the first floor provides calm and privacy. Children's bedrooms, a master bedroom, a large bathroom and a utility room are arranged there.

Layout variants

Foundation

The substructure consists of a flat board with strip foundations.

Vertical structures

The bearing structure of the construction as well as the partitions are built of acoustically and thermally suitable sand-lime blocks, or alternatively of brick blocks. The peripheral walls are insulated with a thermal insulation layer.

Horizontal bearing structures

The structure of the ceiling over the ground floor is of a reinforced concrete panel. The inclined roof consists of a wooden truss with thermal insulation and tile roofing (burnt or concrete roof tiles). We recommend that photovoltaic panels or solar collectors should be installed on the roof.

Floors

PThe terrace surface is covered with terrace planks. There are ceramic tiles in the utility room, in the bathrooms and the toilet. The kitchen floor is of Marmoleum. The floors in the remaining rooms (the living room, the bedroom and the children bedrooms) are covered with wooden floorboards.

Wall openings

All the openings, including the southern main glazed walls are provided with plastic windows with triple insulation glazing as standard. Solar shading is provided by external blinds.

Water is warmed by means of solar panels located on the roof of the house, it is accumulated in a hot water tank, from which it is distributed throughout the house. All the electricity consumption can be covered by solar and photovoltaic panels. The house is aired naturally through the windows. Airing of passive and low-energy houses is complemented by a recovery unit.

The house is heated by a thermal pump, a gas boiler is an alternative source. With this suitable design the house produces more energy than it consumes so electricity can be supplied to the public system.
